THE annual Caravan Extravaganza Weekend is one of Britain’s biggest caravan exhibitions and is the first place where members of the public can view the new season’s models from 17 of the UK’s manufacturers.
In addition to well over 100 touring caravans, about 150 caravan holiday-homes and lodges will be on show from most of the country’s leading names, many of them based in Yorkshire.

About 50 other companies and organisations will display products and feature services ranging from awnings to decking, verandahs and motor movers, plus finance and insurance, security products and almost every kind of accessory associated with caravanning.

There will be information on caravan parks both in the UK and abroad – principally France and Spain; many parks have their own stands while brochures on others will be available at various points around the showground.

There’s something for everyone, so if you are looking to buy a new caravan or just something to use in or outside one, or looking for great places to stay, this is the place to go.

It also helps to have the two national trade associations for the industry on-site – the British Holiday & Home Parks Association and the National Caravan Council will both have stands and staff will be available to provide advice and answer questions. Clubs such as The Camping and Caravanning Club and Yorkshire Friends Ralliers will also be present.

There will also be a huge, well-stocked accessory shop in the Lawns Centre, run by Catterick Caravans, which will have an enormous range of items to catch your eye and add to the enjoyment of your caravanning holidays. Dealerships such as Kenmore Caravans, Wandahome Knottingley, Wandahome South Cave, Waudby’s, Yorkshire Coast Caravans and Catterick Caravans will have their own outdoor stands while representatives from many other dealers will be available to talk to on the stands of various manufacturers.
To keep the youngsters occupied, there will be a bouncy castle, face painting and balloon modellers, and there will be live music, with both a jazz band and a leading brass band entertaining the crowds.

Ice cream vans, hamburger and other stalls will keep visitors refreshed, and a licensed bar will operate during the opening hours in the Lawns Centre, where full meals will also be available.
A number of charities, including the RNLI, will have fund-raising stalls and the local Crime Prevention Unit will be open throughout the show.

Opening hours are from 10am to 5pm each day. Admission is £3 per person or £7 per family/car-load, and car parking is free (the car parks will open at 8.15am each day). If you are not sure of how to reach The Lawns, simply follow the big yellow signs.

A free show guide is also given out to all visitors to help them find their way around the huge showground.
