Programme of Events 2009 – 2010
Monthly meetings are held at the DARBY AND JOAN HALL,
Finkle Street, Cottingham, at 7.30 pm.
All are welcome to attend meetings at a ‘door fee’ of £1 per member and £2 per non-member.
Refreshments are served at a nominal charge. Most talks are illustrated.
• MONDAY, 28th SEPTEMBER 2009: “Revision of Conservation Area Boundaries”. A presentation by Peter Ashcroft and Edward Atkinson (East Riding of Yorkshire Council).
• MONDAY 26th OCTOBER 2009: “Hull’s Parks and Gardens”. A presentation by Paul Schofield.
• MONDAY 16th NOVEMBER 2009: “East Yorkshire Dialect and Stories”. A presentation by Chris Whitfield (East Riding Dialect Society). Please note the change from the usual date.
• MONDAY, 25th JANUARY 2010: “From Pigs to Pork”. A presentation by Richard Longthorp (LKL Farming, Kilpin).
• MONDAY, 22nd FEBRUARY 2010: “Discovering Yorkshire Churches”. A presentation by Ms Ronni Hewer.
• MONDAY, 22nd MARCH 2010: “John Philip Sousa – the March King and Novelist”. A presentation by Norman Staveley (with audio effects).
• MONDAY, 26th APRIL 2010: ANNUAL GENERAL MEETING followed by a presentation to be announced.
Subscriptions:
Individual £6; Junior £1; Household £5 each member. Annual renewals due by September.
