Women's Institute

Meets the 2nd Tuesday each month (except August)
10am Cottingham Civic Hall upstairs

Cottingham Women's Institute has about 30 members but we feel that there are other ladies that would enjoy our group. Our ages range from late forties to 90, but the WI is open to all ages from 16.

In fact there has been a lot of interest nationally from younger women wishing to join the WI because of our wide ranging interests. The WI have always been concerned about promoting safe food, the environment and working conditions for ourselves and our families and the fair treatment of women at home and abroad.

Also by joining the WI you get to take part in activities and develop your interests. Some of the things our members have been involved in are: learning to swim, having a go at archery, horse riding, gliding, target shooting and computer courses.

We are part of “The National Federation of Women’s Institutes”
