The Post
Fans of Meryl Streep and Tom Hanks are recommended to note 7.30pm on Saturday 20th October in their diaries when they star in the film The Post, showing at Swanland Village Hall. A Steven Spielberg award winning film that recreates the true story of a cover-up that spanned four U.S. Presidents and pushed the country's first female newspaper publisher and a hard-driving editor to join an unprecedented battle between the press and the government. Certainly a film not to be missed.  Tickets £4 adults and £2 schoolchildren on the door.

We have two shows to tempt you to Swanland Village Hall in October.  At 7.30pm on Saturday 13th Theatre Newfoundland Labrador are returning with their new play Our Frances - based on the letters sent to her home in Canada from the trenches in the first World War by the young nurse Frances Cluett. Tickets £8 adults (£7 for SVA members paid in advance) £4 schoolchildren from Yvonne at Mere House (tel 01482 634863).  Due to popular demand, the inimitable French folk singer, Flossie Malavialle, returns to entertain her many fans for the tenth consecutive year at 7.30pm on Saturday 27th October to raise funds for the cholesterol charity HEART UK.  Again, tickets from Yvonne.  Full details on both these events can be found on <https://www.swanlandvillagehall.info/forthcoming-events.htm
